Down Syndrome Awareness Month

October is a month that holds special significance for many communities worldwide. It is a time of celebration, education, and unity as people join together to observe Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

This annual event serves as a platform to promote awareness and foster inclusivity for individuals with Down syndrome. It provides an opportunity to educate the public about this genetic condition and promote understanding. Down Syndrome Awareness Month is a special time that focuses on celebrating the talents and achievements of individuals with Down syndrome, as well as foster a spirit of community among people of varying abilities.

To celebrate this occasion, Orana hosted a community BBQ. Clients, staff members, and their families were all welcome. This inclusive approach aimed to bring everyone together and create a fun environment for everyone to enjoy.

The event served as a powerful reminder of our commitment to championing inclusivity and promoting an environment where diversity is not only accepted but also embraced and celebrated.

Thank you to our event volunteers, talented guest artists and all attendees for celebrating Down Syndrome Awareness Month with us.
